What We Believe
Pioneer strives to be a vibrant, open-minded, grace-filled, life-giving, moderate mainline faith community, putting emphasis on community. It’s not about a building, it’s not just about serving--it’s about people. We are a family. We are a people who are there for each other. We work together and play together. We stand together and support one another in times of crisis, struggle, and sorrow as well as celebrating together our joys and successes.
For the past 120 years, Pioneer has been about loving and worshiping the God of Creation, handing down the faith generation to generation, sharing the good news of God’s grace and love, being a place that is welcoming to those who seek to know God, maintaining God’s house as a place where we gather, worship and then go out to serve. It is also about loving and serving God’s children here and globally using the blessings and resources God has given us. It is about being a community, being in relationship with God and with each other.
The future awaits us. God has a plan for that future. Scripture calls us to keep the faith, to listen to the leading of the Spirit, to believe in God’s promises, to keep our eyes on Jesus, to trust God’s faithfulness so that we do not weary or lose heart. We go forward in faith.
